Pata pata pata Pon!***

This post is solely intended for the PSP geekazoids and on-the-knows. :D

Ive upgraded my PSP to 3.90 m33-2 a month ago. And i have this friend, who has a friend, na gustong mag-upgrade ng unit (pag irerefer naman ako sana may bayad. lol eh hindi e. pinasakit lang ulo ko.) tapos nagprisinta na iupgrade ang psp nya. wow. ang sweet.

since i wanted to practice upgrading psp (for champ and shel), i tried working on some stuff sa psp nya. galing sa firmware 3.03 oe-a, iuupgrade ko sha sa latest, which is 3.90 m33-2. pero hindi ganun kasimple yun.

3.03 oe-a > 3.03 oe-c > 3.52 m33 > 3.52 m33-4 > 3.90 m33 > 3.90 m33-2

6 stages. wow naman. so yung psp nung friend nya, hindi nagagamit kasi kahit magpaload ka sa mall ng games, hindi yun magwowork.

and why the need to upgrade hanggang 3.90 m33-2? because may mga bagong games na hindi nagwowork sa mababa. actually pag 3.71 m33 na yung psp mo hanggang 3.90 m33-2 safe na yun. thing is, marami ka kasing katarantaduhang pwedeng gawin pag tamang angas ang firmware mo.

unfortunately... when i was on the 3.52 m33-4 papuntang 3.90 m33, the psp BRICKED. meaning... kung nung 2006 nangyari sayo yon... isa na shang makintab at stylish na paperweight. nakalagay don update failed (error FFFFFFFE) contact technical support for assistance tapos maghahang na sha. Then if you turn it on... iilaw lang yung green light sa power tapos walang screen, then mawawala after 30 seconds.

most of the time, bricking happens when youre trying to upgrade... or load... then you accidentally turn your unit off. kaya hindi pwedeng magupgrade ng mas mababa sa 75% ang battery. pag pinaayos mo sha sa sony... papalitan nila yung motherboard... which is... hindi talaga mura. mapapabili ka na lang ng bago.

but some hardcore awesome geeks did reverse engineering and created a program for the battery. its called pandoras battery. you have to have an extra battery then re-program it and you also have to have an extra pro-duo memory card. tapos gagawin mong magic memory stick. believe me, its really magic.

imagine your gadget. dead. tapos sasaksakan mo lang ng battery... gagana uli.

pero sira yung gadget ha. i mean... paglagay mo pa lang ng battery... maaayos sha. imagine a big save on money and hassle. downside is... pag wala kang extra battery, hindi mo na magagamit ung battery mong reprogrammed as a normal one. so ang ginawa ko, yung battery nya ginawa kong pandoras battery and what do you know... pwede shang ibalik sa normal state. ginamit ko yung battery ko as the normal battery then inalter ko yung sa kanya. tapos binalik for normal use. so i think... if youre a person who upgrades, downloads themes and applications for your psp... you have to have it. hindi ka na kakabahan pag nasira psp mo unless mababasag mo sha or hahablutin ng batang rugby sayo.

so what i did is bricked his psp 5 times... trying firmwares from 3.90 m33-2 up to 3.80 m33. ayaw talaga. and there are certain motherboards pala na nagbbrick pag inuupgrade higher than 3.52 m33-4. tapos pandoras battery lang.. then upgrade from 1.50 > 3.52 m33 > 3.52 m33-4. pero at least... he can use his psp na without needing UMD.

pwede na akong pumwesto sa greenhills. n_n



*** Patapon is actually a new cool game for PSP. it has the same feel with LocoRoco kasi aliw. and no. hindi pinoy ang gumawa nyan. its actually the sound they make na parang tribesmen. pata-pata-pata-pon! *thumps sibat on the floor* sadly it only works beyond 3.52 m33-4. check your system software. :)
