No Day But Today.

"Amazing" Scanning Electron Microscope Pictures

I am amazed but I am also cringeing from the sight of these. I feel sorry for the little guys, like the ants, seeing these most of their lives. I think.

Cut hairs and shaving foam between two razor blades

Bacteria on the surface of a human tongue

A wood or heathland Ant, Formica fusca, holding a microchip

The corroded surface of a rusty metal nail

The nylon hooks and loops of velcro

The eight eyes (two groups of four) on the head of a Mexican red-kneed tarantula

The head of a mosquito

Human sperm (spermatozoa), the male sex cells

The surface of a strawberry

Eyelash hairs growing from the surface of human skin

If everybody can do it, why can't i?

I thought I had my last love. Until I found the right person who never left my side, fought for me, and stayed through craps and neurosis. I was also thrilled that people were happy seeing me happy.

Wala lang. I just jogged this morning and endorphins were rushing. GV everyone. :D

Long weekend.

Yeah I had a long weekend lolz.

Friday, got a few shirts from Team Manila's Warehouse sale. As I type this, I wonder where I put my Ninoy pins. Grabbed lunch at Teriyaki Boy and tried out their Yogato. I shall make a post comparing all FroYos I consumed.

Teriyaki Boy's Yogato: FroYo with Apollos, Mangoes and Coffee Jelly

Last Saturday, we watched Harry Potter 7 with Ehboi (he got 2 tickets, winning from their costume party) and saw friends inside the Greenbelt cinema.

The movie was spectacular. IMHO, its the best HP movie i've seen. It kept loyal to the book but it wasn't as glued to it like HP1. Some scenes were different but the choice of cinematic drama is favorable (like Hedwig tried fighting back, protecting Harry *sniff*). CGI was astounding, like you can imagine how Dobby's skin feels like. I, for one, loved how Umbridge's Patronus looked like, not to mention the silver doe. The emotions as you read the chapters were there. Cinematography-wise it looked like an ordinary British film, which felt great actually, like it's almost less magical but it'll still get to keep you on the edge of your seat, as frustrated, sad, clueless as the characters. That even if you've read the book, you'll still feel like you're knowing the story for the first time. The moviehouse was so quiet, eagerly waiting for the next thing to happen.

We actually talked about the posters that almost looked like Twilight. Ivan and I agreed that one fanmade poster was apt for the first part of HP7.

After the movie, we were supposed to grab dinner at Pepper Lunch but the aircondition broke down. So we went to Ayala Triangle instead...

Ayala Triangle lights

...to check out the new restaurants and we've discovered one gem in the middle of Makati. Chef Laudico's BFast.

I seriously forgot to take pictures of what we ordered because the food was so enticing, we cant wait to jump on it. First, you have to choose between Silogs (Fried Rice, Eggs, with Atchara and Tomato slices plus the Topping or the Filling of your choice), Kalogs (Sweet potato and Eggs plus Topping/Filling), Torta (Topping/Filling with scrambled eggs and grated quezo de bola on top) and Pandenini (Pandesal with the Filling of your choice.) Toppings/Filling were Tapa, Chicken or Pork Tocino, Christmas Ham, Bacon, Pinoy-style corned beef, Sisig and many more.

We ordered a not-so-ordinary Tapsilog, because the tapa is made of Angus beef. Christmas Ham Torta, is made of scrambled eggs with green bell pepper and slices of Christmas Ham. Chicken Adobo Pandenini, is made of Pandesal with fried chicken adobo, sandwiched with cheese smothering, Spaghetti with Egg, Bacon and melted Quezo de Bola. Those are great but their Champorado, made with Belgian Chocolate and Rice Krispies, took the cake. Plus, this:

Mango Pavlova. Sweet riped mangoes on top of soft and crusty merengue.

I ate two. :s

Then we went to Malate, grabbed a bottle of Tequila and went home tipsy. Not drunk. I just had 4 shots and three glasses of Zombie.

Sunday was laundry day, Monday rain was too hard, so we just had Pizza delivered (the usual thin-crusted Angus Steakhouse and a thin-crusted Pepperoni) while watching The Walking Dead episode 4. Then tonight was KFC Double Down night. Randomly, Jeff, Ryan, Rae, Dian, Chie, Ehboi and I chatted using FB's group chat and decided to go to a secluded KFC branch since weve all heard that the Double Down was a box-office hit.

Bacon, cheese and special sauce sandwiched
between two KFC chicken breast fillets

I say it is not that bad, but I seriously wanna live. :s It is a scary sandwich.

Who You Are and What They Say

If you are confident, they will say you are arrogant.
If you are deliberate, they will say you are too sure of yourself.
If you have a sense of purpose, they will say you are self-absorbed.
If you know who you are, they will ask, “Who are you, anyway?”
If you believe in kindness and compassion, they will say you are naïve.
If you are a dreamer, they will say “join the real world.”
If you are a rebel, they will try to shut you down.

The instructions include:
rein it in
slow it down
wait it out
pull it back
take your time
play it safe

But you will know:
They are envious because they want what you have.
They are afraid of change even as they crave it.
They are projecting their own regret into resentment of you.

It’s not all bad news: some of them will sort themselves out and end up joining you. Because you are a good person and have had plenty of false starts of your own, you’ll understand and welcome them warmly.

We’ve missed you! you’ll say. It’s about time you made it.

As for the others, well, you will remember what Gandhi said:
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

Project TikTok+LunaTik Multi-Touch Watch Kits

Remember my last post? Apparently, there is a design in process, which, by the way, is the AWESOMEST ive seen.

It is the TikTok+LunaTik Multi-touch Watch Kits.

TikTok is a simple snap-in design. It allows the user to easily and securely snap the Nano into the wrist dock. It cleanly and simply integrates the Nano and transforms it into a modern multifunction timepiece.

LunaTik is designed and intended to be a premium conversion kit for someone that wants to dedicate their Nano to being a watch and the newest conversation piece with their friends. It is forged from Aerospace Grade Aluminum and then machined via CNC into its final form.

The straps are made from high grade silicone rubber and the hardware is solid stainless steel not some chrome plated brass that will wear off. The quality of these watch cases and straps will be scrutinized very carefully and produced in the same factories that produce the best watches for companies like Nixon, Diesel, Vestal, and Nike.

Go visit the site if you wanna back this project up for funding by pledging from a dollar to $500. For a $50 pledge you are pre-ordering and will receive the LunaTik Multitouch Watch Conversion Kit. The Lunatik is hot-stamped and CNC'd out of aerospace grade aluminum at one of Apple's suppliers. The LunaTik will sell for $69.95 online and at retail. Includes shipping within the USA. (Shipping to Canada add $10, International add $15 to pledge amount)

THIS PROJECT WILL BE FUNDED ON THURSDAY DEC 16, 11:02PM EST.

The Nano Watch.

Find some of the current iPod nano watch options a bit too subdued for your style? Then you might want to consider Griffin's new Slap wristband, which looks to be among the most protective and colorful options to date. Made entirely of a soft silicone, the Slap is available in no less than eight different colors, and it completely encloses your iPod nano (save for the headphone jack) but promises to still let you control the volume and sleep / wake buttons through the case. Still no word on a release date, but you can expect this one to set you back the same $25 that most other similar wristbands seem to be going for.

Yes. I am still going for the Nano with this accesory. This is my watch. THIS.

(edit:)

Look, the future is in hyper-informed wrist accessories. If you don't know that by now, what do you know? Not that, assuredly. Sony Ericsson's Android-augmenting, Bluetooth-tethered LiveView accessory is now available in some European countries, including some fan faves like the UK, Germany, and France. Prices seem to vary from country to country, with a UK version going for £48.97 (about $79 US), France getting a €59 shot at it (about $80 US), and Germany swooping in with an über-low €42 tag (about $57 US). All three disparate prices seem a small amount to pay to place the future on your wrist / other clippable surface, but maybe that's just us. (source)

Until this. I can live with this. No. I love this too. Fits right for my phone :D

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead had a huge amount of viewers (Pilot ep: 5.3M, 2nd ep: 4.7M, 3rd ep: 5.1M) but the first season will only carry 6 episodes. 13 episodes for the second season on... wait for it...

OCTOBER 2011.

what. the. f.

I know it's awesome and all but I think it's unfair making us wait for almost a year. :'(

The Devastation.

I actually wondered when it's gonna stop. I mean, every time I go home, every time I had fun, it seemed like an addiction of running back towards the thought of you.

Every single time that I think of you, I think of all the memories we had together. I can still hear you laugh, the feel of your touch, the way you smell, and the sight of you whenever I wake up. But now I also think of how we hurt each other, of how we used to feel like a victim. I have thought of how I managed to survive myself so I could fit in your world. On how I tried accepting who I was. On how I tried to be accepted by everyone.

But that was years ago. 6 years ago. I knew myself a li'l. Because all the while, I thought you were just behind me, supporting my baby steps. Funnily, you weren't.

I had opened my heart and my soul. Communication is the key, so I've said. You've never listened. You never cared.

Now here you are, parading like we never existed. Like we never knew each other. That I just have to keep my pride and convince myself that I'm tired of chasing you and making you understand that hey, we have to be okay.

But now I'm not sure. Because I'm only concerned of the time that you might need me, and I'm not there anymore to care.

Yesterday was the day we give each other letters, or texts. Or a li'l something that would make each other smile. But from now on, today is the day when I ended my devastation.

Sorry. I have to get over you.

P.S.

You know I'm happy to be with someone. I could be happy for you too. But you never gave me the chance to feel that for you.

End the lying. It became your last stick of cigarette that never burnt out.

Saturday Morning.

I should be preparing. Ryan and I are going to the mall just to grab some scramble/starbucks/lunch.

I am painstakingly inside twilight zone this morning. Not that I woke up at the wrong side of the bed. I basically slept in it. Last night was the great mood swing. I just went home and decided to just watch The Vampire Diaries. That didnt help.

I wanted to deactivate my facebook this morning. That was drastically emo so I tried changing the privacy settings. Or delete some people that I do not know (Im a cyberwhore. I add who adds me. At least I aint a cybersnob). To take my mind off it, I decided to visit my formspring page. Anwered this:

That didnt help either.

So Ill be watching 30 rock and will be putting Natasha Bedingfield's Pocketful of Sunshine in my phone and make it as my ringtone before hitting the showers.

*sighs*

People are going to disappoint you, I get that, I kind of expect that but, what happens if one day you wake-up and realize you are the disappointment.

People always leave.

Oh hey Charlie. I think this blog is for you.

Necessary.

The World Has Daddy Issues.

Yes. And I do not even know why. 60% of the people I know has it.

I have been quite busy these past few days coz Eboy's mom is in the hospital here in Manila. Well, Finally. Not that I have a prejudice with hospitals in provinces but there is a reason why people from far-off places like Iloilo come to Manila to get a good surgeon, or perhaps an expensive surgical instrument. I think it's where our taxes go. *crossing my fingers*

His father has been so stubborn (and somewhat arrogant) by not bringing his Mom here because his dilemma (and also a lot of people's) was that, Doctors in public hospitals are just "studying" the patients they admit or as I put it in a more ignorant phrasing... "they're not real doctors, they're all interns". I snorted, rolled my eyes like I'm having a seizure and sighed like it's my last breath. I seriously don't want to argue with a person who has this kind of principle with no solid basis at all. Have you seen a school without a teacher? Like... a school that functions in a whole year but with... um... just students? Yeah there you go.

But then again, there they are. Succumbing to the first plan, but with worse lab results. I just hope his mom gets well sooner.

I did some laundry, then went to the grocery, almost burned the kitchen, then went to the hospital to check out wuz happ'nin.

The PGH ER felt like a warzone. :'( As we were looking for a place to park, we all got that eerie hospital vibe, or I say "we", the population of Silent Hill players. Then Ryan, Rae and I waited outside the Emergency Room coz Eboy mentioned that there has no signal inside. I walked and asked where the Observation Unit is, and as I walked the hallway, I passed by a lot of people on IV's, with big oxygen tank, with Betadine-d arms, but I nearly broke my heart passing by Pedia.

The place was so humid and I saw those hospital beds without beddings. There also was a woman who came out of the ambulance with her scalp at the back of her head, sliced like an onion, and a part of her brain fell on the floor when they were transferring her from the stretcher to a bed, along with another woman, handcuffed, and high on shabu (as what they were saying).

Going home, Eboy also mentioned that he overheard the nurses wondering if they have a 13-month pay. That was after I asked, "why isnt the ER airconditioned?". Kahit ER lang. Or kahit sa pedia man lang.

So yeah I live in a third-world country. With E-vats, overrly designed but not-functional lampposts (not to mention the uniformity, or lack thereof) and political campaigns worth Php106M, with discount.

And yes, we can't afford a decent, well-ventilated Emergency Room.
